Just one I missed earlier - not that we're bitter or anything.

Blue Lias

The cliffs at Lyme Regis from which Mary Anning excavated her fossil finds.

Part of the Blue Lias, a geological formation of alternating layers of shale and limestone, which formed a shallow seabed during the Jurassic era, they are continually eroded by storms and rainfall, exposing fossils until the next tide washes them away.

Christmas Carrots, Armley Moor

Poor old ponies! We were late with the Christmas carrots this year but at least Santa had left some bales of hay.

In Sunderland we spent our teenage days playing 'Stalker' in the strange landscape left as the coal mines shut down, waiting until it was dark enough to climb over barbed wire to read Shelley in the shipyards or sit in the chained-up shuggy boats at the funfair near Roker Beach, planning our escapes... foghorns and perma-mist, Peel's voice on tiny radios.
